The mounts in palmistry are the fleshy bumps on the palm of your hand.  They are called mounts due to the fact that they resemble mountains.  There are 7 mounts and they relate to the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn.

Mounts may present themselves in three different ways.

Normally elevated – this shows that you are well balanced with that mount’s characteristics.

Overly developed mounts – this can indicate an exaggeration of that mount’s characteristics.

Flat mounts – these can suggest a lack of that mount’s characteristics.

To see them even better, cup your hand a little and you’ll see them clearer.  Which one is the largest when you do this?

Mount of Luna – located below the mount of upper mars right above the wrist.  This mount is connected with imagination, creativity and intuition. 

Normally Elevated – If this mount is normally elevated, it suggests that the person is extremely intuitive and either has an interest in creating things themselves or they appreciate what talent others have. They also love travel and are at peace when around water. 

Overly Elevated – An overly elevated mount suggests that this person is such a daydreamer that they lose sight of the line that separates reality and fantasy.

Flat – If it is flat, they are a person who likes to stay home or in familiar places. They also either have a lack of imagination or they don’t share their ideas with others.

 

Mount of Mercury – located at the base of the little finger. This mount is related to business, finance and communication skills.  It also shows your dedication to family.

Normally Elevated – If this mount is normally elevated, it suggests that the person is shrewd, business minded and entrepreneurial. They are able to communicate effectively for success. 

Overly Elevated – An overly elevated mount suggests that they are someone who talks a lot but is not good at actual communication. They are also not telling the truth.

Flat – If it is flat, they have a hard time speaking in public or even with just a few people.

 

Mount of Venus located at the base of the hand between the thumb and the life line.  This mount is related mostly with love, health, intimacy and passion.

Normally Elevated – indicates a well-respected, happy individual who finds beauty all around them. They are passionate about their projects and surround themselves with things that make them happy.

Over Elevated – this suggests that the person may be someone who overindulges in what makes them happy and can make them possessive. This person thrives on instant gratification.

Flat – a flat mount suggests that the person lacks passion and avoids intimate relationships. They can be cold-hearted and critical of others.

 

Plane of Mars – located in the center of the palm.  This area is usually low on a person’s palm but on some people, it is also thick and firm. 

Thick & Firm – suggests that the person is an extrovert and enthusiastic but also rebellious.  

Undefined – an undefined plane of mars indicates someone who only thinks about themselves and is not interested in others’ lives. They can be narcissistic and dramatic.

A Dip – If there is a noticeable dip in the center, this person is more laid back and patient.

 

Mount of Lower Mars – located below the mount of Jupiter and above the mount of Venus. This mount indicates if the person is more apt to be excitable or aggressive. 

Normally Elevated – If this mount is normally elevated, it can mean that the person is physically healthy and loves a good adventure. They are full of courage and doesn’t think twice about helping others in need.

Overly Elevated – If the mount appears overly elevated, the person can be egotistical and self-centered. greedy and show aggression.  They are mostly argumentative and generally has to be right.   

Flat – If it’s flat, the person is likely shy, has a low self-esteem and tend to be lazy. It is also difficult for this person to share their feelings and because of this they tend to keep a distance from most people. 

 

Mount of Lower Mars – located below the mount of mercury and above the mount of luna. This mount shows what kind of temperament a person has.

Normally Elevated – If this mount is normally elevated, it can mean that the person is physically healthy and loves a good adventure. They are full of courage and doesn’t think twice about helping others in need.

Overly Elevated – If the mount appears overly elevated, the person can be greedy and show aggression. They are mostly argumentative and generally has to be right.   

Flat – If it’s flat, it indicates you lack courage, are introverted, avoids confrontation. This type of person will have trouble with success in their life unless they put effort into changing.  A life coach or counselor are often helpful for this person.

 

Mount of Apollo – located at the base of the ring finger.  This mount is mainly about emotion, wealth, wanting to be in the spotlight, and outlook on beauty. 

 Normally Elevated – if this mount is normally elevated, it suggests that you are laid back, open to change and have an eye for artistic expression.

Overly Elevated – An overly elevated mount indicates that have a quick temper, you usually have issues with all types of relationships and are both jealous and envious.

Flat – If it is flat, you are probably indecisive and an introvert.

 

Mount of Saturn – Located at the base of the middle finger.  This measures responsibility and your perspective on situations.

Normally Elevated – If this is normally elevated, you tend to be a friendly person willing to help others and also very intelligent.

Overly Elevated – An overly elevated mound suggests that you may be depressed, sarcastic, cynical and an introvert.

Flat – If it is flat, you could be unable to see your part in things. You probably point the finger at others and are unable to accept responsibility or your part in things.

 

Mount of Jupiter – Located at the base of the index finger.  This mount represents authority, self-respect and willpower. It is also concerned with both how you see the world and how the world sees you.

Normally Elevated – If this mount is normally elevated you are not egotistical and you have a strong spiritual connection.

Overly Elevated – An overly elevated mount suggests that you are self-centered and need to be in control. You also lack empathy and compassion.

Flat – If it is flat it means that you are hard on yourself and have little confidence in yourself or the future.
